Our learner Luis Leuppi at the IT Exchange in San Francisco
This is how it works - our trainee computer scientist Luis Leuppi is in his 4th year of training and has currently moved his workplace to San Francisco for three weeks. He was selected by the vocational school for this IT Exchange, among other things, because of his crucial computer science and English skills. Filled with pride, redIT naturally agreed to participate.
Why is Luis Leuppi in San Francisco?
By swissnex, the worldwide Our learner, Luis, was able to travel to San Francisco as part of the Swiss Network for Education, Research and Innovation. There he gets the unique opportunity to work on a software project at a startup company. As part of the project, the learners were given a lot of scope for action in relation to the solution. That's why they decided together to work with the most modern technologies possible. Of course, with the ulterior motive of getting to know them even better in their application.
What challenges does this project bring with it?
As a rule, the supervisor gives the learner a clear order and also takes over communication with the customer. The challenge in this project is that Luis Leuppi is responsible for the entire process chain himself, i.e. he has to prepare, plan and implement it independently. Here he gets to know the entire workflow and timing of a project in more depth and can therefore optimize his own workflow.
What is the goal in San Francisco?
On the one hand, completing the project, on the other hand, deepening your own social and technical skills. Furthermore, of course, solving existing problems with targeted approaches and developing innovative solutions. This is achieved by confronting a problem within an unknown environment.
Luis Leuppi, what advantages does this spectacular IT Exchange bring you?
«I gain new specialist knowledge from different specialist areas, which I can then incorporate into my future work. Not only do I benefit from this, but also all customer projects in which I am involved - thus significant added value for our customers. This new challenge, in an environment that was previously unknown to me, promotes my creativity, ability to compromise and ensures increased flexibility in the area of collaboration.
I am fortunate to work with and exchange ideas with some of the best computer scientists in Switzerland. I will never forget this experience and am very grateful to redIT for this opportunity!”
Good luck with the IT Exchange, Luis!
We are very pleased that we were able to make this trip possible and wish you continued success in implementing the project. It's nice that we can count you as part of our redIT team!
More impressions of the San Francisco trip follow… Stay tuned!
